Essential Bolivia
Starting with a day in either Santa Cruz or Sucre, whichever is more convenient for you; take your time to explore. Both cities are home to some great examples of colonial architecture, so get the cameras at the ready. Head to Tarabuco Market to get your first taste of traditional Bolivian life, taking the opportunity to get some hand woven textiles whilst there.
Next stop is Potosi in the Antiplano, for the silver mines and then it’s straight to Uynui. This town serves as a gateway to the absoutely mind blowing Salar de Uyuni. Both surreal and vast, these salt flats are like nowhere else on earth… truly amazing! Spending a few days touring the Salar by 4wd your next stop is La Paz. This bustling city is home to some great sites, such as the Voodoo Market where you can buy all manner of things… so that is definitely worth a visit.
Head next to Lake Titicaca where you will find the most amazing scenery, floating villages and remote islands add to the experience. Finally stopping by Copacabana en route to the thermal springs of the Sajama National Park.
