Umphang Eco Adventure
Umphang is located in the Eastern Thungyai Naresuan Wildlife Sanctuary. The Thungyai Naresuan jungle is composed of mountains, which are part of the Thanon Thongchai Range. It is one of the richest forests of the country. The forest is home to many wild animals such as elephants, leopards, languors, bisons, bears, tigers, apes and many others. It is also a habitat to many species of butterflies and birds including the rare and colorful hornbill. The area has many different and beautiful waterfalls, the Tee Low Soo waterfall being on of the highlights. This area is the home to the Karen people and you will get the chance to interact with them on this tour.
Day 1
Departing Bangkok at 8.00pm you will be collected from your hotel and will travel overnight by VIP bus towards Mae Sot, Tak Province.

Day 2
You will arrive in Mae Sot in the morning and after breakfast proceed to Um-Phang town by local truck. It’s about a 4 hour drive through this beautiful, mountainous area, a great photo opportunity. After lunch and refreshments at a nature resort you carry on to the beautiful Ti-Lo-Jo waterfall. Get your hiking boots on and head to the top of the waterfall for a stunning aerial view. Dinner will be served at Umphang.

Day 3
After the breakfast, depart from the Lodge by bamboo rafts (or rubber rafts depending on the season) on the river Huay May Klong to Ta Sai, stopping along the way at the cascade of To-Lo-Jo. Next stop is a hot spring geyser, then the rapids of Takhubi, before arriving at Phaluat which has an astonishing vegetation and bee hives. For lunch, enjoy a picnic at the river’s edge and then continue trekking or riding an elephant to the waterfall of Ti-Lo-Su. The waterfall is the biggest in Thailand and is the 6th largest in the world, with about a hundred cascades on a width of 400 meters. Here you have time to relax and enjoy the natural surroundings. We will have dinner and stay overnight in the forest camp.

Day 4
One of the main highlights of the area is the great Ti Lo Su waterfall, one of Thailand’s most precious natural assets. In the morning you will have plenty of time to enjoy its beauty, and after an early breakfast, you will embark on another adventure. Trekking into the jungle you will discover a surprising and very protected eco system. Your guide will be at your disposal to answer any questions you may have concerning the flora and fauna. At the Karen village of Khota, you will have some time to rest and meet villagers who cultivate rice, weave and raise elephants. We will have dinner and stay overnight in the jungle with the elephants.

Day 5
After an early breakfast, you can enjoy riding an Elephant in the jungle, exploring the surrounding flora and fauna, and then crossing a river to stroll between rice fields. After enjoying a picnic lunch you will trek through the jungle to the village of Pa-la-tha. Later on you will go to Umphang nature resort and have some free time to relax before dinner.

Day 6
Today you will get up early to see the morning fog that covers mount Hua-Mod. After breakfast you will return to Mae-Sod and here you will have time to look around, relax, and visit the Rim-Mey market where you can find many local souvenirs and handicrafts. This would also the perfect opportunity to get a traditional Thai massage. You will need it after the week’s many hikes and adventures! At the end of the day it’s time to return to Bangkok and the end of your adventures.

Day 7
Once arriving back in Bangkok, you will be returned to your hotel or destination of your choice (transfer to other cities in Thailand is possible as well).
